Items We Can Not Move

At the Move Cheap® Cincinnati Movers, we strive to make everyone's move as quick and stress-free as possible.  That being said, we are a household goods moving labor service.  House Hold Goods are defined as products used within households. They are the tangible and movable personal property placed in the living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, family rooms, great rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, recreation rooms, hallways, attics, and basements and other rooms of a house.  We do not move trash and are not a waste disposal service.

As much as we try to please all of our Cincinnati Tri-State customers, here are a few examples of items we simply can not move whether for health reasons, liability concerns, or otherwise:

  • We can not move bags of trash.
  • We can not move loose garbage.
  • We can not move piles of fire wood.
  • We do not move animals.
  • We do not move chicken coups or other animal housing.
  • We do not move fuels such as gasoline or propane.
  • We can not move any forms of paint or cleaning products that are flammable.
  • We can not move liquids that could break open during transit.
  • We can not, nor have the ability to dispose of old mattresses.
  • We no not move sheds or storage buildings.

Otherwise, from couches to tables to television sets, we're the movers for you! If there's something listed that your unsure about, be sure to contact us.  We'll be happy to answer any of your questions!

From all of us at the Move Cheap® Cincinnati Movers, we hope your move is a great one!

Why Declaration Matters

The first thing you may be asking yourself is , "What the heck does declaration have to do with moving?".  The short answer is a lot

When it comes to moving, it's very important that our customers truthfully answer some important questions that we ask.  Not doing so could result in your Move Cheap® Cincinnati Movers not being able to complete a moving service for you, and that's the last thing us, or you the customer want to see happen on moving day.  Below is a rundown of some very important questions we ask when taking your order, why we ask them, and what happens if you might forget to divulge that information.

1.  Do you have any animals on the premises?

We ask this not because we want to move your dog or cat, we have pets too!  We ask because some of our movers have allergies to pet dander or to animals in general.  Even if man's best friend won't be there on moving day, their hair or dander will be.  Some customers are afraid to tell us they have pets because they fear some type of fee.  We can assure you that no such fee exists, and we want to be sure the movers we send out to you won't be sneezing through your entire move, or in some cases, may have to leave because there allergic reaction to an animal is severe.

2.  Will you have any specialty items like a safe, piano, pool table, aquarium, etc?

This one is uber important to be honest about.  Yes, we absolutely have an extra fee for these types of items, but there's a good reason.  For starters, our insurance requires it.  Many specialty pieces require special equipment to move them.  Lastly, some items require more movers to properly lift them.  When we show up to your home and discover that you'd like us to move an 8 person Jacuzzi, we simply wont be able to do it.  Maybe you forgot to tell us about Grandma's old piano.  If we don't know about it ahead of time, odds are we can't move it.  If you have a gun safe, be honest about the weight.  Our standard dollies are only rated for 800 lbs, and anything over that we wont be able to lift.  The bottom line is, forgetting to declare a specialty item can create a bad moving experience.  This causes anxiety for you and your movers, and moving day can be stressful enough.  Just be mindful if we ask if you have these types of items and please be honest about them.

3.  Do you have any hazardous conditions like black mold, feces, or bed bugs?

Okay, we HATE to ask this question, but it's probably one of the most important on this list.  The health and safety of our movers is our number one priority.  We never want to send them in to a situation where there well being is jeopardized.  IF we arrive at your home and discover any of the hazardous conditions listed above, our movers will be required to leave, and the customer is still responsible for paying the two hour minimum.

So to make your moving day as smooth as possible, please remember to answer the questions listed above honestly.  From all of us at the Move Cheap® Cincinnati Movers, we hope your move is a great one!
