Bed Bugs and Other Hazardous Conditions

Moving is something we all do a few or several times in our lives.  As your Cincinnati moving company, we’re dedicated to giving you a low cost move with excellent service, but we CAN NOT stress the importance of making sure our movers have a safe environment to work in.  Please be aware of the following hazardous conditions that would prevent us from completing your move:

Bed Bugs:
Cincinnati is ranked amongst the top cities in the nation for bed bug infestations.  If we arrive at your home and find bed bugs during your move, our movers will leave immediately.  We will not take the chance to spread these pests to our movers, their families, or the thousands of other families we move in the Cincinnati Tri-State.  We completely understand that having bed bugs can be embarrassing, but being honest with your movers up front is important for their health.

Fleas:
These parasites are another example of conditions under which our movers will leave immediately.  No one likes to be bit!  We don’t, and especially not while we are moving!  Fleas are also easily transferred through clothing, and we don’t want to share these creatures with other Cincinnati families.

Mold:
Sometimes, customers will call us to request a clean out of a property they bought at an auction, a foreclosure, or from evicting a non-paying tenant.  In our experience, the customer has not yet been in the home and we often find black mold.  While not only difficult to breathe, the toxins produced by black mold are neurotoxic.  This means they can kill neurons in the brain and impair a person's mental ability. They also cause nervous disorders such as tremors and can cause personality changes such as mood swings and irritability.

Feces:
This is another condition that is found from circumstances related to foreclosures or evictions.  We will absolutely not move, in any home, where fecal matter is present on the floors, walls, fixtures, or furniture.  It simply isn’t right.  We are a moving company, not a hazmat crew, and health is a number one priority.

Again, the conditions listed above are circumstances in which we will not move you or be forced to leave upon the discovery of said conditions for health and safety concerns.  Customers will forfeit their deposit and be charged the standard two hour minimum regardless if we are forced to leave.  When booking your move, we do ask if any of these conditions are present in your home, so please be honest.

From all of us at the Move Cheap® Cincinnati Movers, we hope your move is a great AND safe one!

Choosing the Right Size Rental Truck for Your Moving Day

The Move Cheap®Cincinnati Movers have been moving customers throughout the Cincinnati Tri-State for nearly 10 years, and one of the number one questions we’re asked is what size rental truck our customers should rent for our movers to load and/or unload.  The simple answer is that every situation is different and typical is a relative term, but we’ve compiled a basic guide to help you decide which truck size is right for your moving day:

For a studio apartment, most customers rent a 10 – 12 ft moving truck.

For a 1 – 2 bedroom apartment, most customers prefer a 14 – 16 ft moving truck.

For the typical 1 – 2 bedroom house or condo, many customers choose a 17 – 20 ft moving truck.

In a 3 bedroom home, 20 – 24 foot moving trucks work fine for most customers.

For homes with 4 – 5 bedrooms, we suggest nothing smaller than a 26 ft truck.

Remember that in many situations if you need additional loading space, you have the option to add a trailer with sizes ranging from 4’ X 8’ up to 6’ X 12’.  In the circumstance where you have a great deal of items, two trucks are always an option as well.  If you feel that you can’t decide which moving truck or trailer makes the most sense for your move, call our Cincinnati moving office at 513-843-6719.  Our experienced staff will always be happy to offer our suggestion.

From all of us at the Move Cheap® Cincinnati Movers, we hope your move is a great one!
